Mitzi Kincaid has more than 10 years of experience in corporate accounting and finance. Prior to receiving her law degree, she worked with BellSouth’s cellular phone company (Cingular, now AT&T).

She served as Corporate Counsel for VisionAIR, a software development company in Wilmington, NC for more than 6 years. She has also worked for the North Carolina State Treasurer as an auditor and with Bell+Howell, an international company specializing in mail sorting machines, where she worked in financial management.

Ms. Kincaid is licensed to practice in the States of North Carolina and South Carolina and before the United States Tax Court. She earned a Juris Doctor from North Carolina Central School of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, from the University of North Carolina – Charlotte.

Ms. Kincaid is the founder of Indie Tree, Inc., a 501(c)3 dedicated to providing supported housing to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. www.indietree.org

Kelli Espaillat

Kelli Espaillat

Attorney Kelli Espaillat works primarily in our Charlotte, North Carolina office advising families and individuals with disability, guardianship, social security, special education law, and other estate needs focused on disability issues.

She is also a mother of two girls which makes here even more passionate about helping families and anyone facing disability issues, even just helping get someone into a school, or decide what their long-term care plans might need to be, so they’re better thought out in estates and guardianship matters.

After attending Charlotte School of Law, Kelli Espaillat has spent the past five years in Charlotte focusing on her passion to help families with options for SSI Hearings, Medicaid Hearings, Guardianships, and Special Needs Estate Planning.


Nancy Guyton

Ms. Guyton has been advising businesses and individuals in business and real estate law for more than thirty years, many of those in our own growing Cape Fear Region.   

Nancy Guyton is a North Carolina State Bar Board Certified Specialist in Real Property Transactions - Commercial and Residential and is the only woman with the Commercial Specialist designation in eastern North Carolina.  She formerly served as General Counsel for Zimmer Development Company.  Ms. Guyton graduated from Smith College with an A.B. in American Studies, earned her J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law in Chapel Hill, and is licensed to practice law in North Carolina.  She is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association and has served as a member of its Real Property Council.

Nancy is an active member of the North Carolina Association of Women Attorneys and an officer and founding member of the Coastal Women Attorneys Chapter. She is currently a Board member of Cape Fear CREW, part of the national CREW Network, which advances the success of women in commercial real estate. 


Akysia Resper

A native of Concord, NC, Akysia Resper is a recent graduate of North Carolina Central University School of Law and a member of the North Carolina State Bar and the Mecklenburg County Bar Association. Ms. Resper earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Fayetteville State University.

During law school, Ms. Resper participated in the Trademark Clinic where she worked alongside other student attorneys to file federal trademark applications. Ms. Resper also has practical experience in other areas of intellectual property law such as copyright law and patent law. As an avid sports fan and former college athlete, Ms. Resper spends most of her spare time watching and following sports.


Karyn Sarvis

Paralegal/Office Manager

Karyn is our Office Manager and Paralegal. Before joining us in February 2019, Karyn worked for a local defense law firm for nine years. Karyn graduated from Appalachian State University with a Marketing/Management degree and an International Business minor. Karyn even worked in China while employed with an import/export business right after college. Karyn obtained a paralegal certificate from Cape Fear Community College. Savannah Nalls

Paralegal

Savannah Nalls is our Paralegal for all Estate Administration, Guardianship, and Social Security Disability Appeals matters. Savannah graduated from Liberty University Magna Cum Laude with two bachelor’s degrees in Paralegal Studies and Government. At the time of her graduation, she participated as a member of student government for the Tau Sigma Honor Society. When she is not reading about psychology or philosophy, Savannah enjoys being a dog mom to her senior yellow lab, Sunny.
